Tonight I went to Placa Espana because they finally started the famous light show at the palace. The pictures didnt turn out too well because with a flash it looked dark and far away and without it was blurry-- but I thought they were good enough to add here :) I havent been as good at keeping up so I am trying to keep some entertainment on this site!! Last night my friends and I bought cava (champagne) and hung out on the beach. It is amazing out here.. and finally warm enough at night to hang out right by the water! I absolutely love this city! I slept at my friends homestay because her senora was out of town and said she could have me over-- her homestay is SO nice.. and right in the center of EVERYTHING. It made me very jealous! Tommorrow I am planning on taking a train to Montserrat and hiking so hopefully I will have good pictures if the weather colds out! hasta luego!

day 55 (2.26.09)

CARNAVAL--
Tuesday night I went to Sitges, which is about 40 minutes by train from Barcelona. It was the craziest party I have ever seen. It kicked off with a huge parade with about 10,000 drag queens.. then there were DJs on the beach and streets full of people and millions of packed bars. It was basically halloween meets mardi gras. It was a lot of fun, but unfortunately I had to take one of the first trains home at 3 in order to make it home for my Spanish exam at 9am. I went with 4 of my good friends Winnie, Kerry, Alex, and Isabelle. They're in the pictures below. I really want to go back to Sitges sometime because I only got to see it at night and it was such a cute beach town!
